Wanted man.
Ulster Rugby could be set to lose the services of Head Coach Jono Gibbes, with The42 reporting that Wallabies boss Michael Cheika is looking to lure him to Australia.
Gibbes recently took full charge of Ulster in the wake of Less Kiss’ departure, after joining from French giants Clermont over the summer. But it now seems the former Leinster coach could be on the move again after just one season as the northern province.
Cheika has been looking for a new set-piece coach following the departure of Mario Ledesma back to Argentina, who has taken over as boss of Super Rugby side the Jaguares.
The report suggests Gibbes had already spoken to Cheika about the role, with the story also being reported by several other publications including The Sydney Morning Herald.
Gibbes has another year to run on his contract after this season, and it’s unclear if he has any release clauses.
