This is ridiculously impressive.
Leinster are on fire in Europe at the moment and head into this week’s away game with Castres, knowing that a win will guarantee them a home quarter final. The Irish province have completed transformed themselves after a disappointing campaign last season.
A number of young Irish player’s have emerged from the ranks, thanks to Leinster’s impressive academy system, but none have shone brighter than 24 year-old Tadhg Furlong, who has made the number three jersey his own for club and country this season.
Furlong is an excellent ball carrier and an impressive scrummager, proven by this stat that has been brought to our attention by EPCR. Leinster are the only side in the Champions Cup this season with a 100% scrum success rate in the competition, winning all 30 on their own ball.
Jack McGrath is the man usually on the other side with Furlong, and with stats like this, Warren Gatland is surely taking notice.
The Lions boss has already expressed his admiration towards Furlong, and with McGrath the leading contender at loosehead, and Rory Best overtaking Dylan Hartley due to his disciplinary problems, we could be looking at an all Irish Lions front-row this summer.
