Sean O’Brien will miss Ireland’s clash with England in Twickenham as a result of the hamstring injury he sustained against France.
Having missed the opener against Wales, O’Brien returned to play on Saturday but did not last very long, coming off with the same hamstring injury that saw him miss the Wales clash perhaps suggesting he should not have been risked in the first place.
Dave Kearney’s Six Nations is all but over but Munster men Simon Zebo and Keith Earls are showing good signs of recovery and will hope to feature. Jared Payne is also touch and go and the moment and may see Stuart McCloskey finally getting his chance in the green jersey should Payne not recover in time. There is no word yet on Johnny Sexton.
Ireland don’t play England until the 27th of February with a much needed break this week that will hopefully give Joe Schmidt’s side some time to recover for the do or die clash in Twickenham.
