The Sonny Bill Williams saga looks to be finally over.
Williams is currently playing for his country’s national sevens team in a bid to add an Olympic gold medal already impressive resume. Williams will however be making a return to union following the event in Rio and has been linked with a host of clubs in recent months.
Reports today have revealed that Williams will sign a three-year deal with the New Zealand Rugby Union this week in order to keep his place in the All Blacks team, ending all speculation of a move to Europe.
A press conference will be held tomorrow, where the former Crusaders and Chiefs player’s future plans are expected to be revealed. Interestingly, Williams is expected to sign for Tana Umaga’s Auckland Blues, rather than a return to the Chiefs as many would have expected.
