Simon Zebo ‘Responds’ To Sean O’Brien Remaining Ireland Eligible Despite Impending Move

Different rules?

Simon Zebo has ‘responded’ with a tweet to the news that Ireland flanker Sean O’Brien is set to join London Irish next season – but will likely remain eligible for Ireland selection, as least until the Rugby World Cup in Japan.

The former Munster man announced his move to Racing 92 in October of 2017 and was instantly exiled by Ireland boss Joe Schmidt, missing out on selection for the November series and Six Nations that season, despite still being contracted with Munster.

But news that Schmidt will likely retain O’Brien, even with a move to London Irish set to be announced shortly, seems to have left a bit of a bitter taste in Zebo’s mouth who wasn’t shown any such loyalty.

He tweeted the below not long after the news of O’Brien’s impending move went viral. Different rules it seems for certain players…
