“F**k you!”
Johnny Sexton came back to haunt some of his French teammates yesterday evening. The Ireland playmaker managed to clinch victory at the death in their Six Nations opener with France, thanks to a 42 metre drop-goal in the 82nd minute.
Ireland incredibly put together 41 phases in the build-up to the score, with Sexton playing a pivotal role throughout. His kick-off was perfect, allowing Iain Henderson to gather the ball, as was his cross-filed kick to Keith Earls halfway through.
After the game, the French were understandably devastated. But former Racing 92 teammate Wenceslas Lauret managed to shared a humorous moment with Sexton, jokingly mustering the words “f**k you” to the Ireland man.
