In what can only be described as a relief for Springbok fans, the Boks won with a clear victory against Samoa on Saturday with a 46-6 win.
No seismic shock this time around as JP Pietersen scores a hat-trick to kick-start the Springboks’ World Cup campaign with comfortable win at Villa Park
- JP Pietersen ran in three tries as South Africa ensured there was no upset this time against Samoa at Villa Park
- Having succumbed to defeat to Japan, Springboks dominated Samoa with Schalk Burger going over for a third try
- Mike Stanley kicked two penalties for Samoa but it would be enough to avoid defeat in their second Pool B match
- Schalk Burger and Schalk Brits added extra gloss – and a crucial bonus point – to the scoreline in the Midlands clash
- Bryan Habana added a late fifth try for the Springboks for his 11th World Cup score and eighth try against Samoa
