Will Leinster lift their fourth European title?
Designed by a MIT economist, Rugby Vision is a suite of statistical models that predicts outcomes for major rugby competitions. For each game, Rugby Vision calculates the expected score margin and the probability of each team winning.
Rugby Vision also calculates the probability of each team obtaining various milestones in a tournament. They boast close to an 80% success rate in the Champions Cup so far this year, so it seems their formula is pretty good.
Now that we know our semi-finalists, they have once agin done the maths and come up with the two teams most likely to reach the final. It’s bad news for Munster fans as they reckon we’re going to see a Leinster vs Saracens final, with Irish province lifting the trophy at the end of it all.
