Ireland international Ross Byrne could be set for a return to the URC after just one season in the English Premiership.
Byrne left Leinster last summer to take up a contract with Gloucester, but hasn’t played for the Cherry and Whites since February.
He’s now been offered a return to the URC, with RugbyPass reporting that the Sharks are interested in him as they desperately look to sign an experienced 10 ahead of next season.
Deals for Wallaby James O’Connor and Italian international Tommaso Allan have failed to materialise, with the former set for a return to Australia, and the latter signing a deal with Zebre.
Byrne signed a three-year deal with Gloucester, but it looks like he may be allowed to leave, with his move seemingly not working out.
