Utility centre.
Robbie Henshaw found himself back at outside centre today for the first time in a while, as Leinster secured a bonus-point over Montpellier in their Champions Cup opener.
The Lions star excelled in the role, being named Man of the Match in a terrific performance. When asked by Will Greenwood after the game as to which position he prefers, Henshaw leaned towards playing at 13.
“Let’s just say I love the bit of space on the outside today.” Henshaw told Sky Sports.
“I got to open the legs a bit and find a bit of space. But I can do both so I suppose it’s good to have both”
“I definitely missed the 13 shirt a little bit. It was great to get a bit of space and work with Joey and the wingers out wide.”
“I shed a few pounds anyway over the last few weeks just in case I had to be called into 13. It was great today.”
Where would you rather see Henshaw? Could he potentially slot in at 13 for Ireland next month, with potentially Rory Scannell inside him?
