Robert Kitson from The Guardian, has reported that the RFU will not allow Eddie Jones make wholesale changes to the England squad.
Kitson believes that under the RFU’s elite squad agreement, Jones will only be able to make 11 changes to England’s World Cup squad before the Six Nations next spring.
The new England manager spoke of offering players a clean slate but the reality is that his hands will be somewhat tied when picking his first squad. Although a number of Premiership players are putting their hands up for selection, the administrative constraints placed upon Jones could see fans disgruntled by the make up of his initial squad.
We’re sure this won’t be the last we hear of this, especially with the form of certain Premiership players over the past few weeks.
