Toulon utility back James O’Connor was reportedly taken to the hospital after the win over Oyonnax last Sunday, with French media outlets Var-Matin and Midi Olympique reporting the 25-year-old suffered a heart attack on the bus.
Midi Olympique report the utility back, who has 44 caps for Australia, was rushed to hospital to undergo tests following initial ‘treatment’ from team-mate Mamuka Gorgodze upon the team’s return to Toulon.
The club are yet to make an official comment on the health of O’Connor, who is expected to be sidelined for some time.
*Update: Toulon have released an official statement stating O’Connor has passed a series of tests and medical examinations and they will continue to monitor the situation.
