Ireland and the Springboks are set to clash at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin this weekend – and it’s gonna be a big one for South Africa head coach Rassie Erasmus.
Erasmus is widely regarded as one of the best coaches the game has ever seen, but the fact that he has never defeated Ireland in Dublin is something he will no doubt be aware of.
Having led South Africa to successive Rugby World Cup titles and beaten pretty much every team in the world both home and away, Erasmus will want to tick this final box, especially considering the rivalry between the two teams in recent years.
In fact, you have to go back as far as 2012 for the last time South Africa won in Dublin, when Heyneke Meyer’s Boks beat Ireland 16-12.
