Tributes have been pouring in all day for Paul O’Connell from fellow professionals, former teammates and fans
One of the greatest, most inspirational players the world has even seen has played his final game for Munster and his final game for Ireland.
It’s been a tough pill to swallow given the circumstances. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have the fairytale Brian O’Driscoll send-off.
Ronan O’Gara knows this feeling himself. His last game for Ireland wasn’t a reflection of his career gone by and he bowed out of the game entirely with a semi-final loss in the Heineken Cup with Munster. He tweeted this touching tribute today…
My sadness is tinged with absolute pride having spent 16 years with one of Rugby’s greatest competitors. #gentleman #Leader #1ofakind
