If there’s one thing we’ve learned this season, it’s that the west is well and truly alive.
Pat Lam has led Connacht to a remarkable season which sees them sitting 2nd in the PRO12 table with one game remaining. This has ensured Connacht a guaranteed place in the play-offs.
Lam was in attendance at a Connacht press conference yesterday and the head coach handed out a stat sheet to those in attendance. It showed just how impressive Connacht’s success has been in comparison to the others around them at the top of the Pro12.
In terms of the Pro12 table which Lam wanted to highlight, Connacht are bottom. His side are 12th of Pro12 teams in terms of both number of international players and total international caps in their squad.
In total, Lam’s side have just 9 international players and 57 international caps.
