Target.
No matter what happens this season it appears Paddy Jackson’s stint at struggling Top 14 side Perpignan will be short lived.
The former Ulster and Ireland outhalf joined the French side over the summer after having his contract revoked by the IRFU, but things haven’t exactly gone according to plan.
His side are without a win in the Top 14 this season and look certain to head straight back down to the PRO D2. But Jackson it appears was smart enough to have a release clause put into his contract, and has been attracting plenty of interest ahead of next season.
He was seen paying a visit to Lyon recently, and now it seems he’s a target for an English side. French publication Le Progres are reporting that Jackson is a target for Declan Kidney’s London Irish.
The English side are currently plying their trade in the Championship, but look destined for promotion. The move would make a lot of sense, and would see him link up with former Ulster boss Les Kiss, along with Kidney who gave him his Ireland debut. Watch this space.
