Done deal.
Former Ireland director of high-performance David Nucifora has landed a role with a Six Nations rival following his departure from Ireland.
Nucifora was recently replaced by David Humphreys after a decade in charge of Ireland where he helped guide them to four Six Nations titles since 2014, including two Grand Slams, as well as three Under-20 Grand Slams in the past five years.
The Australian won’t be going far, however, having signed a two-year deal with Scottish Rugby.
Filling the void left by Jim Mallinder’s departure, Nucifora will cover all aspects of the traditional Performance Director role at Scotland Rugby but will operate on a consultancy basis.
Nucifora is credited with developing the Ireland 7s programs for both the men’s and women’s teams, which has paid dividends with both sides becoming mainstays on the HSBC SVNS Series, as well as reaching the Olympics.
