Heading home.
Munster Rugby are currently in the market for a replacement for Jean Kleyn, with the South African lock set to leave the province at the end of the season.
Defence coach Denis Leamy refused to rule out an overseas signing this week, and while it does look like they’re gonna be looking overseas, it looks like it’s to bring an Irishman home.
According to Bernard Jackman, Munster are set to sign Ireland international Ultan Dillane, who is currently in France with Ronan O’Gara’s La Rochelle.
The 32-year-old former Connacht lock, who has 19 caps for Ireland, is out of contract with La Rochelle at the end of the season, having moved to France back in 2022.
Dillane began his rugby career in Munster, playing for Tralee and Munster Youth before being picked up by the Connacht Academy.
