It was reported earlier this month that Munster were looking to sign Racing 92’s South African outhalf, Johan Goosen.
However in his column in the Irish Examiner, Racing 92 defence coach and former Munster outhalf, Ronan O’Gara has revealed that there is no truth in the reports and he will not be joining the southern province.
We have a class operator at Racing, Johan Goosen. The South African has another year on his contract with us, he’s been in negotiations and it’s probably stalled. But there’s not a hope in hell he is leaving Racing, for Munster or anywhere else. Sorry.
With another loss at home last night in the PRO12 against Ospreys, Munster fans will be hoping that the province have a plan b as based on performances this year it is clear that Munster need a top quality outhalf in place for next season if they are to improve on this season’s disastrous campaign.
