It was reported yesterday that Munster and Ireland wing Keith Earls was set to snub a contract with the IRFU and Munster to sign a three-year deal with Premiership champions Saracens.
Many fans were left shocked that another Irish star could be heading across the shore. Munster coach Ian Costello however was quick to respond, stating that it is mere speculation and that negotiations are ongoing.
From our point of view, that’s what it is – it’s a rumour, it’s speculation.
Bottom line is , we want Keith here next year. He’s a quality player, a quality person. So we hope his negotiations with the IRFU are successful over the next 24 hours.
With similar rumours floating about a couple of weeks back surrounding James Cronin’s future we would definitely take the Earls rumours with a pinch of salt. Munster fans will no doubt be hoping it’s only speculation and no more.
