Sale Sharks have announced the signing of Welsh international scrum-half Mike Phillips ahead of next season.
Phillips started his career at Scarlets at the age of 20 and then moved to Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Bayonne before joining Racing 92. The Welshman has played 15 games this season for Racing 92 and is expected to be involved in the match day squad for the Champions Cup final next week.
Phillips has won 94 caps for Wales (a record for a scrum-half) and also played five Tests for the British and Irish Lions (having toured in 2009 and 2013)
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: “Mike will fit perfectly into our plans here at Sale Sharks.
“He is a big, powerful and very skilful player and has plenty of experience playing at the top level of the game.
“Mike will also be one of three ex-Racing players at the club next season alongside Brian Mujati and Juandre Kruger.”
