Pathetic.
France centre Mathieu Bastareaud has let loose on his side following their shock 21-14 defeat at the hands of Fiji in Paris last night.
The hosts ended their November series in the worst possible way as the pacific islanders defeat Les Blues for the first time in nine attempts thanks to a heroic display.
Bastareaud, who took over the captaincy from hooker Guilhem Guirado in the second-half, branded his side “shameful” and “pathetic” after the game, stating they now must “start from scratch”
“Who do we think we are? We beat Argentina and we think we’re something special,” he said.
“We have to start from scratch now and we’re at rock bottom. Because we’re pathetic, shameful, we have to be aware of that.”
The win for Fiji means they will climb above France in the World Rugby Rankings for the first time in history when the updated list is release at some stage tomorrow.
