London Irish have announced the signing of Hurricanes outhalf James Marshall.
Marshall, 27, will be part of the Wellington-based Hurricanes squad for this year’s Super Rugby campaign – it is his fourth season with them – before linking up with Irish next term.
During his career in New Zealand, Marshall also captained Taranaki to ITM Cup success.
“James signing is a huge statement of where we want to take this team next season,” Irish head of rugby operations Glenn Delaney said.
“He is comfortable at both fly-half and full-back and possesses great game-management skills.
“He has been an important member of the Hurricanes squad over the last few years, and the experience he has gained from being in their environment will be invaluable to us at London Irish.”
