Here for the long haul.
Saracens have locked down England and Lions star Owen Farrell on a bumper 5-year contract.
Farrell will remain at the club that he has called ‘home’ since the age of 14 until at least 2022 after signing the new long-term deal. The talented playmaker is said to have secured a significant pay rise in the process, bringing him in line with rugby’s top earning stars.
The 25-year old has made 152 appearances for the Allianz Park based club since making his debut in the Anglo-Welsh cup back in 2008, firmly establishing himself as one of the best players in the professional game today.
Speaking about committing his long-term future with the north Londoners, Farrell said:
“It’s an opportunity to hopefully grow with this group again for the next few years; to get better and improve on what we’ve already done.”
“This teams got a long way to go still. To see how far we can take it is exciting.”
