Liam William’s contract is set to expire in the summer.
The Scarlets and Wales fullback has been one of the star performers in the region for the last few seasons but he could be set for a shock move to arch rivals, the Ospreys according to the South Wales Evening Post.
If Williams does decide to join the Ospreys, his move could potentially start a bidding war among the Welsh regions for Leigh Halfpenny. The Toulon star was linked with a host of Welsh and English clubs last summer including Wasps, Ospreys and the Cardiff Blues, but ultimately decided to remain with Toulon.
However as Halfpenny could fall victim to Gatland’s law if he doesn’t sign for a Welsh region next summer, his return is anticipated. Should Williams sign for Ospreys, the Scarlets will surely become favourites for Halfpenny’s signature.
