The day has arrived.
Leinster Rugby have unveiled a video that is sure to make Munster fans sick with the reveal of a certain player in blue ahead of the new season.
Springboks lock RG Snyman will be in Leinster blue next season after agreeing a deal to join Munster’s bitter rivals in a hugely controversial move.
The towering second-row spent four injury-ridden seasons at Munster but was a huge player for the southern province when fit. With Munster sticking by him through his injuries, the move to their rivals is one that had made a lot of fans unhappy.
His decision to join Leinster has not gone down well with Ronan O’Gara among those fuming with the deal.
“The transfer of RG Snyman from Munster to Leinster is only going to feed the sense of injustice down south,” O’Gara wrote in his Irish Examiner column back in April
“That a programme already weighted towards the capital can create, partly through central contracting, a financial situation where Leinster have the wherewithal to nab one of Munster’s biggest assets is – not to put too fine a point on it – the biggest kick in the bollocks I can remember for a province since the game went professional in this country.”
