Ireland interim head coach Simon Easterby has been hit with a triple fitness blow ahead of this weekend’s Guinness Six Nations Round 3 showdown with Wales at the Principality.
Caelan Doris, Ronan Kelleher, and Tadhg Furlong have been ruled out of Saturday’s fixture.
Ireland captain Doris has picked up a knee injury, while hooker Kelleher is struggling with a neck issue.
Furlong missed Ireland’s wins over England and Scotland, and while the IRFU noted on Sunday that he was “making good progress” – he remains unavailable.
“We’re hoping they’ll be available for France. They’re just going through the processes they do with the physios, but they’re all making good progress,” said Ireland attack coach Andrew Goodman.
The question now is who will captain Ireland against Wales?
