Ireland have been dealt yet another injury blow ahead of their Six Nations opener with France next week.
Bundee Aki was sent home today for disciplinary reasons as he awaits the outcome of his hearing, and now fullback Hugo Keenan is set to leave their Portugal camp tomorrow.
Keenan, who has only just recovered from hip surgery, sustained a fractured thumb in training on Tuesday.
There have been a number of changes to the squad since it was announced last week, with Jude Postlthwaite called up alongside his Ulster teammate Cormac Izuchukwu and Connacht’s Billy Bohan.
Head coach Andy Farrell now looks set to be without a host of his starters for the game with France, with the likes of Andrew Porter, Paddy McCarthy, Mack Hanse,n and Robbie Henshaw already ruled out.
