Ireland Issue Injury Updates On Dan Leavy, Cian Healy & Andrew Conway

Battered and bruised.

Ireland emerged victorious in their second Test with Australia this morning in a bruising encounter at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

Just like the first Test – it was a pretty intense and fast-paced affair, and with that comes some battered bodies. Wallaby scrumhalf Will Genia will miss the series decider after breaking his arm, while Ireland trio Andrew Conway, Cian Healy and Dan Leavy were all forced off with niggles during the game.

But the good news for Ireland is all three should be fit for next week judging by Joe Schmidt’s post-match comments.

“Andrew is looking… I’d say he could train, fully, on Tuesday. He got a hip-pointer and it’s just that bruise that’s debilitating at the time but, I think, that’s something that over the next 48 hours will wear itself through. I’d be really confident with Andrew Conway.

“With Cian, it was just a smack on the AC [shoulder], which again is temporarily debilitating but he could well be okay.

“With Dan, he got a whack on the sternum. Again, that is very uncomfortable but he could have potentially played on, but I thought Jordi Murphy went on and did a really good job in his place.”

Hopefully all three will be fit and read for the final Test in Sydney.
