Best of the best.
Ireland have dominated yet another World Team of the Year with seven inclusions in Midi Olympique’s (France’s leading rugby publication) 2018 Team of the Year.
Forwards Cian Healy, Tadhg Furlong and Peter O’Mahony all make the cut, but James Ryan does not, with the French instead going for the All Blacks pairing of Sam Whitelock and Brodie Retallick (at least it’s not Itoje ahead of him like this team).
And in the backs – Conor Murray, Jacob Stockdale and Garry Ringrose are all included. But a certain World Player of the Year in Johnny Sexton is not, with Beauden Barrett getting the nod at ten.
