Ireland have been rocked by yet another crucial injury ahead of their Six Nations opener with France on Thursday week.
Looshead prop Jack Boyle sustained a leg injury during Leinster’s victory over Connacht, further adding to Ireland’s injury crisis in the front row with Andrew Porter and Paddy McCarthy already sidelined.
Connacht’s uncapped prop Billy Bohan will join the training camp in Portugal as cover.
In other news, Munster’s Tom Ahern has been replaced by Cormac Izuchukwu, while Robert Baloucoune will continue to be assessed over the coming days after being withdrawn at half-time in Ulster’s defeat away to Scarlets.
