According to reports in the Bath Chronicle and Wales Online, outhalf Rhys Priestland is set to backtrack on his decision to take an 18 month sabbatical from international rugby.
Priestland announced his decision to take a break came after he signed for Bath after the World Cup, who saw the former Scarlets fly half as an ideal replacement for George Ford while he was with the England squad.
Although Priestland is not assured his place in the Welsh squad, his decision to seek a return has forced Bath to sign Kiwi playmaker, Dan Bowden.
Ggiven the complications with regard to Gatland’s law governing the selection of foreign based players, and with many arguing for the inclusion of Gareth Anscombe, Priestland may not even be considered as a back up option for Dan Biggar. This hasn’t however affected his decision to backtrack.
