Final hurdle.
Munster take on Castres today in their final Champion Cup pool 4 match in Thomond Park today, knowing a win in Limerick will guarantee them a spot in the knockout stages.
The southern province can go one better though, thanks to last night’s result between Scarlets and Toulon. Because the Welsh side failed to score a try-bonus, Munster can now overtake them, and finish in the top four.
If Munster manage a try-bonus win over Castres, with a winning margin of five points or greater, they’ve got a home quarter final in Thomond Park in the bag.
No doubt it’s an achievable task, but Castres have been on a good run of form. First and foremost Munster need to focus on getting the win and qualifying. The game gets underway at 1pm today in Limerick.
