Francis Saili is quickly becoming a fan favourite down here in Munster.
In a disappointing season, Saili was one of the few highlights as the former All-Black showed us exactly why he was capped by the world champions on more than one occasion.
While it’s common knowledge that players on this side of the hemisphere pay close attention to what’s going on down south, its unknown as to whether or not they do the same. Saili has today revelaled however that a certain Ronan O’Gara made a huge impression in New Zealand on him and his Auckland Blue teammates.
When I was growing up, he was one of the players I used to admire, and we had a thing in training sessions when we used to practise ‘the O’Gara kick’ to the corner.
With the Blues, we used to line up as backs kicking to the corner and shouting ‘O’Gara,’ to get a low trajectory to give the other wide players a chance to score.
There’s only one ROG.
