A second top French international has retired from test rugby in less than a week.
Dimitri Szarzewski has shocked new France coach, Guy Noves, by announcing his retirement today.
The news comes just one week after captain Thierry Dusautoir decided to call a halt on his international career.
Dusautoir’s announcement was expected but Szarzewski’s has taken many by surprise. It had been reported that the Racing hooker was one of leading candidates to replace Dusautoir as French Captain.
During his 83 cap international career, Szarzewski won three six nations titles and played in three World Cups.
Sad to think we won’t see those famous locks on the International scene again!
