Former London Irish and Toulon fullback Delon Armitage is set for a surprise move back to England with National One club Chinnor RFC, according to the Rugby Paper.
The 26 times capped England international left for France back in 2012, enjoying four trophy-laden seasons with the former giants of Europe before moving to Lyon back in 2016 where he has remained since.
Armitage won three European cups and two Top 14 titles with Toulon, but turns 37 this year as he looks set to wind down his career at a much lower level of rugby.
He’s struggled with a knee injury in recent years but would no doubt still be able to do a job in National One and will come as a huge signing for the club.
