Promising young hurler Darren Sweetnam shocked Cork by taking up a professional contract with Munster in 2012.
Sweetnam shone for the rebel county in 2012 as the minors reached the All-Ireland semi-final before shockingly taking up a contract with the Southern Province in October of the same year.
The young starlet took a spot in the Munster academy and went on to shine for the Ireland U-20’s. He was rewarded with his first professional contract last January despite not even making a single senior competitive appearance.
