American football prospect.
A former high school American football player has been training with Leinster’s sub-academy since September, according to a report by Murray Kinsella of The42.
Roman Salanoa, who’s has been playing at tighthead prop in rugby, has Samoan ancestry and is from Hawaii originally. He earned All-State selection, and helped his school to a state championship in 2015.
The 20-year-old has been playing with Old Belvedere U20s this season and started at tighthead for a Leinster Development side that defeated the Ireland U20s in Donnybrook last month.
Salanoa weighs in at over 120kg and stands over 6 feet tall and can max bench press 180kg and squat around 240kg. He’s also apparently light on his feet with impressive acceleration.
Watch out Tadhg Furlong, Roman Salano is coming.
