Old pals.
Andy Farrell looks set to make his first backroom staff appointment ahead of this summer’s British and Irish Lions tour – and it’s a familiar face.
Multiple reports state that Farrell is set to bring in former Ireland Director of High Performance, David Nucifora, ahead of the Lions trip to Australia.
His role is yet to be defined but it’s said that the 63-year-old will be “managing the performance staff” throughout the series.
Nucifora joined the IRFU back in 2014 and has worked with both Farrell and Wallabies boss Joe Schmidt.
He stepped away last year, with David Humphreys replacing him, and has since been working with the Scottish Rugby Union after signing a two-year deal.
Farrell is yet to name his coaching ticket for the tour but an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
