Gavin Henson has been dropped by the Dragons for their derby clash with his old club Ospreys on New Year’s Eve. The former Wales and Lions star had a poor game against Cardiff and is now paying the price.
His defensive efforts were particularly poor on the day, causing him to be at fault for at least one try for shooting out of the defensive line. He was also put in his backside at one point by youngster Owen Lane.
A Dragons fans asked why he was dropped completely from the squad with no real explanation and Henson himself responded. Rather than make excuses, Henson simply stated where he feels he needs to improve and apologised for his poor performance.
No @gavinhenson82 and no explanation…don't you hate that. Either injured, punished for not a great game v blues, rested? But not even on the bench against his former club…wierd!

Yeah sorry, I wasn’t physical enough in the contact area especially being bounced off, so lost my place. But it’s an area of my game that isn’t great at the moment so working hard on putting that right. https://t.co/J0Bp39gLv4

Fair play. Not often you see this kind of truth and openness from a pro. Top class. Looking forward to seeing him back in the starting line-up. https://t.co/6wU00p7bF5
