Schmidt, Gatland & Cheika have ruled themselves out and now another high-profile name has done the same.

After his World Cup heroics with Japan, Eddie Jones has been a wanted man. The problem is – he’s already signed up to coach Super Rugby franchise the Stormers and he doesn’t want to add to his workload.

There has been no contact and I am committed to the Stormers. I woke up this morning and looked at Table Mountain. I’m very happy to be here.

Western Province is one of the oldest and most prestigious unions in the world, with 125 years of history at this ground. It’s a fantastic city and the opportunity to coach the Stormers is wonderful.

As things stand, it’s looking like South Africa’s 2007 World Cup winning coach Jake White is out in front when it comes to the remaining candidates. White is currently in charge of Montpellier but he confirmed on Wednesday that he would be interesting in taking over the job.
