England Have Already Started Advertising For A New Backs Coach

A new job listing on the official RFU site appears to indicate that England are already on the hunt for a new backs coach following their World Cup exit.

The International Performance Department is responsible for developing the England players and teams of the future.

We currently have an incredibly exciting opportunity for an International Performance Coach who will be responsible for delivering high performance talent identification, coaching and player development across the International Performance programmes.

They will hold specific responsibility for both individual, unit and squad coaching delivery, as directed by the Head of International Player Development, and in alignment with the England Rugby Senior programmes, working with the relevant National England Coaches and performance programmes, will identify and develop players with the potential to play for England at 15s and 7s.

The post holder will also be required to assist the Head of Professional Coach Development with the delivery of Coach Education programmes (e.g. Regional Academy Rugby Days).

The successful candidate will hold an RFU Level 4 coaching award (or equivalent) as a minimum. They will possess demonstrable experience as a high performance coach, with respect and credibility gained at International and Premiership (or equivalent) standard. Experience and expertise in coaching all aspects of Back/three-quarter play is essential and they will also have experience of self-directed work and working as part of a team.
