Conor O’Shea announced earlier in the season he would be leaving his post at Harlequins at the end of the current campaign.
There has been plenty of speculation since the announcement with O’Shea heavily linked with both Munster and Italy. It has been confirmed today that the latter is true and O’Shea will indeed take over as Italy’s new coach at the end of the season.
Harlequins made the official announcement this morning. O’Shea will take over from current coach Jacques Brunel who has endured a disappointing spell as coach of the Azzuri, including another wooden spoon at this year’s Six Nations.
