Conor O’Shea earlier in the year announced that he would be leaving his post at Harlequins at the end of the season.
His destination is yet to be confirmed but apparently a deal to take over at Italy is already done. The Italians current head coach Jacques Brunel is set to leave his post following the Six Nations and O’Shea is expected to slot right in at the end of his Harlequins contract.
Reputable Midi Olympique reported Gavin Mortimer has today reported that O’Shea is already pulling strings behind the scenes, having secured the services of current Italy captain Sergio Parisse until after the Rugby World Cup in Japan in 2019.
Parisse is widely regarded as one of the very best players in the world and will now apparently lead the Azzuri to the next Rugby World Cup at the ripe old age of 36. A massive coup for the Italians.
