Conor Murray Brilliantly Slags Keith Earls As Ireland Team Meets Michael D

Grand Slam heroes.

The Irish Rugby team completed a famous Six Nations Grand Slam this year – just their third in history, and first in almost a decade.

Johnny Sexton’s drop goal on the opening day proved to be pivotal, with the men in green following up that famous win in Paris with a clean sweep at home against Italy, Wales and Scotland.

To make it all the sweeter, Joe Schmidt’s men completed the ‘Slam’ against old rivals England in their own backyard, with a famous 24-15 in Twickenham.

Today Ireland’s president Michael D Higgins hosted a reception at Áras an Uachtaráin in honour of the Irish rugby team’s fantastic achievement. President Higgins welcomed 27 players who featured in the five matchday squads, as well as the backroom and support staff, and wives and partners, for individual photographs as well as a squad photo.

Conor Murray posed with Rob Kearney and Munster teammate Keith Earls for his photo – and the scrumhalf couldn’t resist taking the piss out of his provincial teammate with an Instagram post today.

“Big day for Keith Earls” Muray wrote

 “Tallest he’s felt in years!”

Earls responded with an apology to the president…

“Slagging our president… seen it all now” Earls responded

“Sorry about him Mr. President”

Big day for @keith.earls, tallest he’s felt in years!
