Brian O’Driscoll feels that it would be brilliant for Irish rugby if Connacht were to go on and win the Pro12 final today.
O’Driscoll feels that a win for the western province could see a changing in the guard in Irish rugby, although he still believes that his former club Leinster are marginal favourites.
The former Irish captain feels that Connacht have absolutely nothing to lose today.
“I think it is a free shot, there isn’t a huge amount of pressure on them (Connacht),” he said.
“I don’t sense they’re going to be rabbits in the headlights. I don’t think they’re going to freeze. I think we will still see a lot of the same stuff we have this season and its going to be a brilliant final.
“I say this with my neutral hat on, it would be brilliant for Irish rugby if Connacht won.
“It would be brilliant if we change things up because you don’t want the same winners year after year.
“Its a brilliant story and I hope they build on it and it would be easier to build on it if they win it.”
