Leinster lost 33-6 today at the RDS to an impressive Wasps side in their opening game of the Champions Cup.
Wasps ran in three tries and completely dominated Leinster from start to finish.
Speaking on BT Sport after the game, Brian O’Driscoll said that his former team require improvement in every aspect of the game ahead of next weekend’s clash with Bath.
From a Leinster perspective, it’s obviously very disappointing the manner in which they’ve lost. Not only on the scoreboard but in every facet of play, they’ve been dominated. At lineout time, at the scrum, at the ruck, collision winning, everything. When you meet up on a Monday morning and look at the areas you can improve on, you can tick every box. Leinster need to improve on every area for next weekend.
Given the opposition in Pool 5, which also includes Toulon, O’Driscoll called the Bath game ‘must win’.
That’s how tight this group is. I just have to wonder how do Leinster find a way out of this group. They have to win against Bath next week, that’s a must win game. It’s not the kind of situation you want to find yourself in two games into the group stage.
