Staying put.
Leinster are confident they will be able to retain the services of both Joey Carbery and Ross Byrne for next season, according to a report by Ciarán Ó Raghallaigh in The Times.
The IRFU are reportedly keen to move one of them to Ulster, with Leinster scrum coach John Fogarty admitting talks have taken place between the province and their governing body.
Carbery and Byrne are “in the middle of their contracts” according to a Leinster source, with the eastern province confident this means they will be able to retain both.
Teammate Jordi Murphy will make the move to Ulster next season, but his contract is up, with Leinster insisting it was the player who forced this move for more game time.
“Jordi Murphy is going to Ulster this year. He’s grown up here, he’s been brilliant for us – brilliant. He wanted more game time and he’s made the decision himself to go to Ulster.” Scrum coach John Fogarty said
Carbery and Byrne meanwhile are said to be happy at Leinster.
