Ardie Savea may have given fans a strong indication of where he’ll be playing his club rugby next season.

The All Blacks captain is currently without a Super Rugby Pacific side after Moana Pasifika ceased operations, while his sabbatical in Japan has also come to an end. That has naturally led to speculation over which franchise he could join for the 2027 campaign.

Now, Savea appears to have hinted that the Blues could be his next destination.

Speaking on social media, the All Blacks skipper was asked about the prospect of turning out for the Auckland-based franchise next season.

“Someone said to see you at the Blues next year. What do you reckon?” Savea said.

Rather than dismissing the suggestion, Savea jokingly suggested the decision rests with one of New Zealand’s biggest stars.

“You gotta ask Rieko [Ioane]. Rieko’s the boss. Whatever Rieko says, I do.”

Ioane recently returned to the Blues after completing his sabbatical with Leinster, where the All Blacks centre spent part of the season in Ireland before heading back to New Zealand.

While Savea’s response was clearly tongue-in-cheek, it is the strongest indication yet that he could be set to join the Blues following the collapse of Moana Pasifika.

A move would see two of the All Blacks’ biggest names reunited at club level and would provide a major boost for the Blues ahead of the new Super Rugby Pacific season.

Nothing has been officially confirmed, but Savea’s playful comments have certainly given supporters plenty to talk about.
