Pontypool RFC have confirmed that one of their now former players has been banned for two years for a doping offence.
Second row Adam Scanlon tested positive for Clomiphene after providing a sample following Pooler’s Championship fixture against Bridgend Athletic in October 2015.
As a result, he has been ruled ineligible for competition for a period of two years by UK Anti-Doping (UKAD), up until October 23, 2017.
Scanlon becomes the fourteenth Welsh rugby player to be currently banned for doping offences. [WalesOnline]
